Morning All,
1 winner with each bank yesterday but I lost the plot and need a little break to get my head, and the banks, back together before I come back and start over.
Here's what happened - I had a bit of a lash at Soul Diva, more than I could really afford to risk at the moment (it's all relative) - she ran a pretty good race coming off a slow pace which was never going to suit and finishing second. She looked well in yesterday - which is why I had the bets I did - but when they raced the way they did she didn't have much hope of running down the leader.
Anyways - I reverted to type after she lost and chased what I had lost only to lose a bit more and mess up all my banks - STUPID.
Which is why I need the rest of the year off. I need to work out how to treat bets outside those I post here, not that there should be many but there will be some. When you have an interest in a horse, you have to have a bet on them when they go around, that's just the way it is.
I need to freshen up, have a few days off the punt - get my head together and come back stronger then ever!!!
For interest - Here's the results
Bank 1
Bet 3 Caulfield Race 2 - 1 Soul Diva - Lost
Bet 4 Randwick Race 7 - 3 Ready to Lift - Won
Profit $21 Overall Profit $1 (1 from 4 - 25%)
Bank 2
Bet 104 NBA Mavs vs Trail Blazers @ $2.80 - Won
Bet 105 NBA Cavs - 14.5 vs Wizards @ $1.86 - Lost
Profit $3.56 Overall Loss $11.95 (52 from 105 - 49%)
So next year, when I'm back, both strike rates need to improve and both banks need to grow - they will, I know they will - I just have to get it right. Wait and see :)
Just on Soul Diva, it was good to see her find some form and with the extra $10800 in prize money she's now cracked the $250k - no owner would complain about that. My share is $324 and over $7.5k - still behind overall but not by much and as you can't put a price on the thrill of having an interest in a winner (although some probably do) - I'm very happy with her.
So that's it for now - I think I'll drop in and post a few thoughts on punting the next few days but I won't be posting any bets until the new year. This my friends, has been a lesson in what not to do - next year I'm determined to show you what to do to get it right :)
All the best,
p.s. sorry if this reads badly, it wasn't easy to write

Don't beat yourself up Womble. You have a good punting skills. Start the new year with (1) confidence (2) a plan that has a couple of rules that you never break (3) specific goals that you want to achieve...smaller goals along the way.
Cheers Zappi, I'll be back - just not quite yet - I need to refocus
Will be keeping an eye your progress though. Like I've said before - show me how it's done :)
