Afternoon All,
Running a little late today so I haven't rated too many races yet - figured I'd post here and get back into it.
Not many bets last week, I'm really struggling to get motivated to rate during the week - I need to go full time now, if only I had a bank :(
Week 3 was a winning week and hopefully a sign of things to come
Out - 27.5 Units
In - 39.75 Units
S/R - 40.91%
P/L - 12.25 Units
POT - 44.54%
Overall
Out - 108.75 Units
In - 128.34 Units
S/R - 35.63%
P/L - 19.59 Units
POT - 18.01%
Much nicer figures :)
Here's 2 from the races rated so far to have a little something on each way
Caulfield Race 3 - 5 Solchow $2.20
Rosehill Race 3 - 7 Snow Alert $2.50
I'd better get the rest of these races rated
Have a great week :)
A mug punter's attempt to turn things around - watch and learn (or maybe just point and laugh) as I have a crack at moving from being - the not so professional punter - through - the semi professional punter and finally to - the professional punter - Well hopefully :)

Week 2 - oops
Evening All,
Firstly apologies for not posting this yesterday - I was running a little late and had to get a bus to Sydney. Was a nice weekend away, a winning day at the races and a 40th birthday do for a good mate from uni, well worthwhile.
Ok, the results - only limited bets in week 2 and it was a bad week :( But hey, that's going to happen, the figures will be up and down early but will hopefully average out to where I need them.
Week 2
Out - 26.25 units
In - 15.68 units
S/R - 28.57%
P/L - (10.57 units)
LOT - (41.86%)
Overall
Out - 81.25 Units
In - 88.59 units
S/R - 33.85%
P/L - 7.34 units
POT - 9%
So not good figures but still in front overall - to keep this going long term I need at least 5% POT, my target is 10% POT although I would happily take higher and that's possible based on the the trial.
No luck for the top raters once more, I'll have to think about what I do there.
The main reason I'm not too worried about the figures above is that I've had a ripper start to Week 3 almost hitting 100% POT, hopefully that will continue on.
My 2 shortest yesterday were Bejewelled in Sydney which lost and Eagle Falls in Melbourne which got up at around evens in a very good win.
Anyways, there's the update - I'll aim for Saturday next week
Have a great week All

1 week down, a lifetime to go :)
Afternoon All,
Sorry I haven't been back until now, I've been trying to work out how to do all this. The couple of top raters I put up last week did nothing, hopefully today's pair will do better :)
As to the exactas - week 1 is a winning week :)
Here's the figures
Out - 55 units
In - 72.91 units
S/R - 36.36%
P/L - 17.91 units
POT - 32.56%
So above target so far - I hope that continues
Today's top 2
Caulfield Race 5 - 9 Diamonds at Dusk $1.50
Rosehill Race 8 - 11 Fastest Bullet $1.50
Soul Diva is about to run - needs luck from the barrier but a good chance this class at good odds - GO YOU GOOD THING!!!
Gotta run,
Good luck if you're punting :)

Here we go, here we go ....
Afternoon All,
The big day has finally arrived - day 1 of the new approach, let's hope it all works out.
Lucky I started a week late because I found a mistake in my set up - I had a minus instead of a plus - oops. All fixed now though.
I'm betting on Sydney and Melbourne and because there's probably not much point you dropping in to watch my progress without a rating or two to follow - here's my shortest rater for each venue
Melbourne - I have Keltah at $1.70 in the last
Sydney - I have Drum Major at $1.60 in race 4
Soul Diva is being saved for next week, fingers crossed she goes well.
Birthday drinks today, off to the bowling club for a drink and a punt followed by whatever happens :)
Have a great
p.s. Well done Aussies, Ashes cricket back to normal :)

Happy Birthday Horses :)
Hey All,
I'm back - well almost.
Plan was to start today but I've decided to hold off for a week - so start date will be next Saturday August the 8th. Main reason is it's after payday so I'll have something to start with but apart from that - it will give me a week to get back into the swing of things, Soul Diva will hopefully be running (she raced and won on the day I started the trial) and finally, it's my birthday :)
So the planets are all aligning for a start on Saturday the 8th.
I've done quite a bit of work while I was away - I have new spreadsheets, the beginnings of a database and an approach decided - the exactas. It's not the best way of doing it but it will get me through until I'm fully set up with a proper database that I can use to automate everything + more importantly have a bank to use.
That's what this season will be about - building a bank and getting a real database, well unless mine develops to the point I don't need a new one :)
My target for the year is $10k profit - possibly a little ambitious but I'll see how I go, I VERY rarely achieve targets or goals I set for myself but this is one I want to have a real crack at - $10k would allow me to have a real go next year and hopefully move closer to that dream of turning professional :)
So that's it for now - I'll rate a few races this afternoon and see how I go, refine my process a little so that I'm ready to rip from next week.
So until then, have a great week
p.s. I have Miss Supernatural rated odds on in Caulfield Race 1 - see how she goes.
